Queer Journalism is all about sharing the news and events that are happening in our community. It is designed to teach and improve writing skills so that we can have our lives recorded and shared, that way, we are never erased in history again.
Queer Journalism is broken down into 6 modules with 3 classes per module. We start with the basics, then how to write your words, and finally how to pull it all together in design with photography. Each module is 1 month long and has one general assignment that you will complete to practice what you are learning. To receive a certificate of completion you must attend and complete all 6 modules. The modules are:
Learning the basics about Journalism is very important. The styles, types, and how to source and vet your information is key to being a great journalist.
Once you have your story and all the information, learning how to write a compelling story and share that information in the proper format is critical.
A well-written story can be worth a 1,000 words, and a great picture can capture worth those 1,000 words to make it a winning article. Media is always an ehancement.

Join the classes in person or take the course one class at a time. We are in the process of recording the classes so that you can take them at your own pace. Classes taken online that are not participating in the live zoom format are not eligible for a completion certificiate. But you will gain the base knowledge for you to start sharing your news with the community.
